Your child will be scheduled for medical check-ups according to the guidelines of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). This means that your baby will be seen within the first week of life, then at one month, two months, four months, six months, nine months and then at one year of age. After the first year of life, visits take place at 15 months, 18 months, 2 years, and yearly thereafter.
At each of these visits, a complete physical exam and growth and developmental assessments will be performed. Age-appropriate preventative care will also be discussed at each visit, including safety advice, diet and nutritional counseling, emotional health issues and bloodwork screening as appropriate.
